Slated to appear during the taped hourlong event are standup comics Jeremy Hotz, Greg Giraldo, Kathleen Madigan, Tom Papa, and John Pinette.

Erik Estrada Guest Stars on ‘Meet the Browns’
June 24, 2009 by Chandra
Former CHiPs star Erik Estrada — better known as Officer Francis Llewellyn “Ponch” Poncherello to the truly obsessed (I just called him Ponch) — is getting around these days, and his next stop on the tube is TBS’ very own Meet the Browns, tonight (June 24) at 10pm ET.

On the first of two new episodes, “Meet the Mexican,” Estrada plays the father of character Jesús. The handyman persuades the residents of the Brown household to pretend they’re his servants in order to impress his father, who doesn’t realize Jesús hasn’t become the successful lawyer he wants to be yet.
Next on ‘Meet the Browns’: The Cousins & The Body
June 17, 2009 by Chandra
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne is still taking a break and offering four repeats from 8pm to 10pm ET tonight (June 17). But Meet the Browns is in business with two more new episodes for fans, starting at 10pm.

The first episode, “Meet the Cousins,” has a main storyline that concerns Will, who finds himself in trouble with Sasha after she comes across some photos on his cell phone that show him at a bachelor party. It’s safe to assume the pictures are on the wild or provocative side.
A second plot thread involves Mr. Brown, who — to his great dismay, I’m sure — learns that he and Mrs. Daisy have distant relatives in common when he investigates his family tree. There’s no way that’s not going to be extremely funny.
My Name Is Earl: Completely and Officially Over
June 11, 2009 by Chandra
The bad, sad news dropped earlier today. Basic-cable network TBS, which currently syndicates My Name Is Earl, has declined to pick up the comedy following its cancellation at NBC last month. That means the sitcom is now officially finished. *sniffle*

Blame the latest disastrous and final development in the comedy’s struggle to survive on failed negotiations. Apparently, Turner, which owns TBS (and also TNT), and the sitcom’s production studio, Twentieth Century Fox TV, were unable to reach an agreement that would have allowed production of new episodes to continue.
The culprit? Money, as always. It seems one or both sides couldn’t come up with a financial strategy that worked for everyone involved.
Next on ‘Meet the Browns’: The Matchmaker & Career Day
June 10, 2009 by Chandra
No new episodes of House of Payne air tonight (only repeats from 8pm to 10pm ET), Tyler Perry fans, but Meet the Browns is running strong with two fresh episodes of its own, as usual.

First up at 10pm ET is “Meet the Matchmaker“: Will and Sasha decide to fight Tanya in order to keep her from taking Brianna and Joaquin, and the love/hate thing going on between London and Jesus continues.
Next on ‘Meet the Browns’: The Class & Mommie Dearest
June 3, 2009 by Chandra

There’s lots for fans to look forward to on the two new June 3 episodes of Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, such as kids from hell, a little haute couture, welfare fraud, and magical blue pills. Really.
First up at 10pm ET is “Meet the Class .” Cora’s eagerness is challenged when she’s assigned to teach “tough” students during a substitute teaching job, and Brown and London engage in a so-called fashion showdown for a designer.
Next on ‘House of Payne’: Surprise!
June 2, 2009 by Chandra

The two new House of Payne episodes airing on Wednesday, June 3, are the first and second parts of an hourlong storyline called “Surprise!“.
In the first half-hour, Calvin surprises his parents with the $20,000 they need to repair their home, and Janine reveals that CJ has traveled to Chicago in search of employment.
Then, in the second half-hour, Calvin and Miranda continue to experience problems in their relationship as Janine, Malik, and the twins get ready to relocate.
Continue after the jump for a sneak peek at the opening episode, featuring Curtis and Ella.
