The series focuses on three freshmen football players at fictional Blue Mountain State college, who have to cope with girls, hazing, partying, and classes, in addition to playing a sport at the national level.

Produced by Brian Robbins (Smallville, Varsity Blues) and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett, the newcomer has 13 half-hour episodes in its rookie season.

The comedy stars former NFL running back Ed Marinaro (Hill Street Blues) as the football team’s coach Marty Daniels, Smallville alum Sam Jones III as top recruit and future NFL pro Craig Shilo, Daytime Emmy-winner Darin Brooks (Days of Our Lives) as talented quarterback Alex Moran, and The Sarah Silverman Program actor, producer, and writer Chris Romano as Alex’s best bud Sammy Cacciatore.

Second-string cast members include The Game’s Gabrielle Dennis as Craig’s controlling girlfriend Denise Roy and Jones’ fellow Smallville alum Alan Ritchson as team captain and ardent hazer Thad Castle.

Check out the show’s first two episodes — the series premiere “It’s Called Hazing, Look It Up” and Promise Ring” — from 10pm to 11pm, right after the 9–10pm network syndication debut of the HBO staple Entourage.

Blue Mountain State airs Tuesdays on Spike TV at 10pm and 10:30pm ET.

The series stars Mark Duplass (The Intervention), Nick Kroll (Worst Week), newcomer Jon Lajoie, Steve Rannazzisi (Samantha Who?), and Paul Scheer (Human Giant) as a group of Chicago-based yuppies who participate in a fantasy football league, as well as Katie Aselton (The Office).

During the premiere episode — the first of six in the freshman run — the league prepares for the big draft at the beginning of the latest season. However, one member, who just happens to be the three-time defending champion, has to deal with his wife, who doesn’t want him to get involved in the new season.

The League airs Thursdays on FX at approximately 10:30pm ET.

The multi-camera comedy stars Sherri Shepherd (The View, 30 Rock) as the title character, a newly single mom, paralegal, and part-time actress and comedienne eager to start dating again.

During the pilot, we meet her assorted colleagues at work who serve as a source of support and friendship. Shepherd’s co-stars include Tammy Townsend, Elizabeth Regen, Kali Rocha, Kate Reinders, James Avery, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Michael Boatman, and Tachina Arnold. Following the September 30 the premiere of Grammer’s new sitcom Hank is the 8:30pm ET debut of Heaton’s own new comedy The Middle.

The Everybody Loves Raymond veteran portrays dedicated wife and mother Frankie Heck, who balances work, family, and life in an average suburban American town. Her husband Mike is played by long-time Scrubs cast member Neil Flynn, while acting duties for their children are handled by Charlie McDermott (Medium) as Axl (as in Rose, I suppose), Eden Sher (Weeds) as untalented-but-enthusiastic Sue, and Atticus Shaffer (Hancock) as weird Brick.

During the pilot episode, Frankie hits a roadblock in her career as a car salesperson when she fails to sell a single vehicle; Sue wins a spot in the show choir, although she’s already part of the stage crew; and Brick asks his mom to attend his class presentation dressed as a superhero.

The five-time Emmy winner’s latest series finds him playing the title character Hank Pryor, a successful sports entrepreneur whose high-class world tumbles down a whole lotta notches when he’s pushed out of his executive job and forced to relocate his family to a small Virginia town called River Bend. Much culture shock and disappointment ensue.

Besides star and co-executive producer Grammer, the show’s cast includes Melinda McGraw (Mad Men) as Hank’s unhappy wife Tilly, David Koechner (The Office) as his gloating brother-in-law Grady Funk, Jordan Hinson (Eureka) as his hip teenage daughter Maddie, and Nathan Gamble (The Dark Knight) as his quirky young son Henry.

Providing both support and comic relief are her colleague Laurie (Busy Philipps, Dawson’s Creek), her sarcastic married gal pal Ellie (Christa Miller of Cougar Town creator Bill Lawrence’s other comedy creation Scrubs), her underachieving and irritating ex-husband Bobby (Brian Van Holt, John from Cincinnati), her fellow recently divorced neighbor Grayson (Josh Hopkins, Ally McBeal), and, of course, her son Travis.

A documentary-style series that claims to explore contemporary family dynamics in the United States, Modern Family boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Ed O’Neill (Married with Children), Julie Bowen (Boston Legal), Ty Burrell (Back to You), Sofía Vergara (The Knights of Prosperity), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Do Not Disturb), and Eric Stonestreet (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), as well as child actors Sarah Hyland (Lipstick Jungle), Nolan Gould (Space Buddies), Ariel Winter (ER), and Rico Rodriguez (Cory in the House).

During the pilot episode, Jay Pritchett (O’Neill) and his gorgeous young bride Gloria (Vergara) try to get accustomed to their new life together, which includes her pre-teen son, who has developed a crush on a 16-year-old girl, and his adult daughter Claire (Bowen), who has a husband named Phil (Burrell) and three kids of her own.

Phil happens to be a child at heart, which complicates things when he tries to act hip after his and Claire’s teenage daughter Haley (Hyland) brings a boy home. Meanwhile, Jay’s adult son Mitchell (Ferguson) copes with introducing his extended family to the Vietnamese baby girl he recently adopted with his life partner Cameron (Stonestreet).

During the debut pilot episode…

We meet central character Billie (Elfman), a newspaper film critic who recently broke up with her boyfriend, only to immediately get pregnant afterwards by so-called accident during a one-night stand with a younger man named Zack (Jon Foster, Windfall).

Based on the hit Mary F. Pols memoir, the series follows Billie as she decides to keep her baby and then arranges with the father to live together as platonic roommates.

As expected, however, that setup leads to further complications, such as when Billie realizes that Zack and his immature friends have a very different lifestyle than she does, leaving her to wonder if her newborn will be the only child in the house.

Also starring on the newcomer are former Ugly Betty regular Ashley Jensen as Billie’s free-spirited best friend Olivia, Lennon Parham (Parks and Recreation) as Billie’s married little sister Abby, Melrose Place and Swingtown alum Grant Show as Billie’s current boss and commitment-phobic ex-boyfriend James, and Nicolas Wright (The Business) as Zack’s freeloading buddy Davis.

Bored to Death stars Jason Schwartzman (Cracking Up), pictured above at left with his co-star Zach Galifianakis (Reno 911!), as Brooklyn, New York-based writer Jonathan Ames. The pen slinger is so affected by a painful breakup that he attempts to get over the failed relationship by pretending he’s a private eye similar to those featured in classic detective novels. I kid you not.

Joining Schwartzman and Galifianakis on the show’s marquee is Cheers veteran Ted Danson. Other familiar funny people set to appear include Heather Burns (Twenty Good Years), Patton Oswalt (The King of Queens), Oliver Platt (Huff), Parker Posey (The Return of Jezebel James), and Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live).
