Rules of Engagement: Sexy Money Finale Preview
May 18, 2009 by Chandra
The entertainment Internets delivered good news this past weekend for fans of CBS’ dependable midseason comedy Rules of Engagement. It seems the sitcom will almost certainly be back during the 2009–2010 season for what looks like at least 13 episodes.
Tonight (May 18), however, the series is devoted to closing its current third season with not just one, but two episodes. The first, “House Money,” airs at the special time of 8pm ET and the second, “Sexy Toy Story,” follows in Engagement’s regular time slot of 9:30pm ET.
During “House Money,” Audrey persuades Jeff to do something fun together with the profit he made from selling his car. Unfortunately, she soon regrets that grand idea after their extravagant night proves more costly than they expected.
Then, on the finale proper “Sexy Toy Story,” Jeff wonders if he and Audrey are lacking something in their relationship after Jennifer hosts a party. I’m thinking the episode’s title totally gives away the theme of that last event, as well as what Jeff probably hopes he and his wife can introduce to make their personal life more “complete.”
A sneak peek for each episode and one promo for the double broadcast follow the jump.

Rules of Engagement: 2.12 ‘Optimal Male’ Recap
May 4, 2008 by Chandra

Original Air Date: April 28, 2008
Now that JEFF and AUDREY have decided to start a family, it’s important for everything to be in order, like their life insurance. It’s time for Jeff’s annual physical, which he’s not too concerned about because he thinks he still weighs the same amount he did in college. If true, that makes him an optimal male in the insurance’s three way system of overweight male, average male, and optimal male.
Audrey bursts Jeff’s bubble, however, by telling him he’s been using the happy scale that’s set ten pounds lower. According to their bitchy scale in the closet, Jeff is really just an average male, a designation he’s determined to shake by losing ten pounds over one weekend. He thinks it will be easy, too, because he lost weight rapidly all the time in school for wrestling purposes.
Later, ADAM bumps into his ex-girlfriend STACY (Guest Star Valerie Azlynn) while he, JENNIFER, and Audrey are out running errands. To Audrey’s astonishment, Jennifer doesn’t protest when the two leave to have coffee alone. Jennifer claims she can’t say no to such requests because Adam was raised by hippies, leaving him with no sense of boundaries.
In other words, he has no problem remaining close friends with exes, and he doesn’t care if Jennifer is friends with hers either. In fact, Jennifer returns home to discover that Adam has offered to let Stacy stay with them because her hotel lost her reservation and doesn’t have another room available.

Rules of Engagement: ‘Jen at Work’ Spoilers (4-21-08)
April 14, 2008 by Chandra

The title of the April 21 episode of Rules of Engagement, “Jen at Work,” is pretty descriptive since one subplot finds Jennifer working for her significant other Adam’s company, obviously probably not such a great idea. The personal and the professional can be a bad mix for a romantically involved couple.
Audrey and Jeff have got things going on, too, especially in the bedroom after a gift gets Jeff all excited in more ways than one.
Rules of Engagement airs Mondays on CBS at 9:30pm EST.
