Notes from the Underbelly: 2.7 ‘The List’ Recap
February 13, 2008 by Chandra

Original Air Date: February 11, 2008
LAUREN is now 37 months pregnant, and she gets DANNY to take ANDREW to a surprise concert festival in the desert so her husband can relax and truly enjoy himself for the last time before the baby arrives. When she realizes she forgot to give Danny the VIP backstage passes, she recruits COOPER and JULIE to drive with her to the concert to deliver them.
The women are just finishing up a brunch date in lieu of a formal baby shower for Lauren. At the restaurant, Cooper’s assistant BEN informed the lawyer he’s ditching her for her rival Beverly. Normally, Cooper would have ordered Ben to take the passes, but she can’t anymore since he’s switched sides.
On the way to the concert, Andrew was crossing items off of a list he keeps to remind him of what he needs to do to prepare for the baby’s arrival. Unfortunately, when he and Danny get to the concert, there’s no such list of people allowed backstage. So, Danny calls Beverly, who calls her new assistant Ben to bring them passes.
Notes from the Underbelly: 2.6 ‘If the Shoe Fits’ Recap
Original Air Date: January 21, 2008
LAUREN, now in the last third of her pregnancy, becomes obsessed with her poundage after her most recent weigh-in indicates she’s reached a weight she’s never been before in her life. To help her de-stress and get more rest at night, her husband ANDREW buys her a long and odd U-shaped pregnancy pillow. But, Lauren can’t figure out where the long ends are supposed to go initially. So, the pillow ends up keeping her awake all night, until she kicks Andrew out of the bed while struggling to get it positioned properly.
The next day, Andrew is in the park when DANNY approaches walking a dog, Gus, he claims is a chick magnet that can help him meet women. After failing miserably on that front since the dog refuses to go fetch the Frisbee Danny throws near a group of women nearby, Danny makes a stupid comment about whether Andrew and Lauren’s baby can hear and see what they’re doing when they have sex.
Elsewhere, Lauren and COOPER are out to dinner at a nice restaurant, and Cooper complains that Lauren needs some really passionate sex to get her out of her funk. Lauren objects, clarifying that it’s hard to get in the mood when you have a bowling ball pressing against your pelvic floor. She feels unattractive, but a couple of guys sitting across the room at the bar don’t seem to agree … until she stands up and it becomes obvious that she’s very pregnant.
Notes from the Underbelly: 2.5 ‘Friends and Neighbors’ Recap
January 24, 2008 by Chandra

Original Air Date: January 14, 2008
LAUREN and ANDREW are out walking with COOPER, who’s trying to lose weight before the party she has to throw for rival lawyer Beverly Morgan at work. After the couple thank Cooper for helping them out with their will, the three bump into Paige and Gary Bartlett, the only neighbors in the area with children. The Bartletts seem to think that they’re going to be best friends with Lauren and Andrew as soon as Lauren gives birth. In that spirit, the Bartletts invite them to a barbecue that weekend, not sensing how much the other couple dislikes them. To help Lauren and Andrew escape, Cooper slyly wanders away and then calls them on her cell phone so they can fake an emergency and leave.
At home while getting everything together to finish the will, Lauren realizes they need to name legal guardians for their child if something should happen to them. Nobody in their families and inner circle of friends seems suitable, so they decide that JULIE and ERIC would be a good choice. When Lauren asks, however, Julie replies that she’d love to, but since she’s already overbooked, she could only agree if someone else backed out. Lauren and Andrew are shocked that Julie would choose people in her cake-decorating class over them.
Notes from the Underbelly: ‘My Baby’s Doctor’ Spoilers (2-4-08)
January 18, 2008 by Chandra

At the moment, there’s no episode, new or repeat, scheduled for Notes from the Underbelly on January 28th during its regular time slot. The series will return February 4th, the following Monday, however, with a brand-new installment called “My Baby’s Doctor.”
As the title indicates, the plot revolves around pediatricians, but there’s so much more to it. In addition, a subplot involving the guys and a sport they love provides additional humor.

‘Notes from the Underbelly’ Returns Tonight
January 14, 2008 by Chandra
If you’re a Notes from the Underbelly fan, get happy because the ABC sitcom is back for a run of at least two new episodes and very possibly more.
Tonight’s installment gets a bit on the morbid side, however, when the characters fixate on wills and legal guardians and such. Yet, nobody ever said having a baby was entirely about fun and good times, as Lauren and Andrew will surely learn.

Friends and Neighbors
LAUREN AND ANDREW MUST CHOOSE A LEGAL GUARDIAN FOR OLIVIA
When Lauren and Andrew make an appointment with a lawyer to create their will, they’re faced with the important decision of choosing Olivia’s legal guardian should anything happen to them.
After Julie and Eric turn them down because they’re “booked,” they decide to ask their neighbors, a couple they hate for being too perfect — until it dawns on them what great guardians they’d make.
Lauren and Andrew quickly devise a plan to win them over, but it’s abruptly spoiled when an overly eager Andrew “pops the question” too soon. Lauren tries to save Andrew from his mishap, only to make things worse with her poor choice of words.
Notes from the Underbelly airs Mondays on ABC at 9:30pm EST, but tonight the show begins at 9:31pm.
Next on ‘Notes from the Underbelly’: Not Without My Noodles
December 17, 2007 by Chandra
Are there any Underbelly fans out there? If so, note that tonight’s installment is the last new episode of 2007. In fact, unless ABC tweaks its schedule before the New Year, tonight’s installment is the last episode period of 2007. As of now, the series will return with fresh stuff on January 14, 2008.

Not Without My Noodles
ARE COOPER AND LAUREN GROWING APART?
When Cooper thinks that Lauren is becoming too wrapped up in baby stuff, he decides to make a new friend.
Meanwhile, Andrew foolishly disregards the old adage “don’t work for friends” when he agrees to landscape Julie and Eric’s yard in preparation for baby Perry’s official “coming out” party.
To make matters worse, Danny wants Julie and Eric to hire him to play piano at the party. Eric, for his part, must manage his wife’s expectations for a blowout baby party without screwing up his friendship with Danny and Andrew
Notes from the Underbelly airs Mondays on ABC at 9:30pm EST.
