‘Greek’ Season Two Resumes

March 30, 2009 by Chandra

GreekThe second midseason of ABC Family’s college dramedy Greek kicks off tonight at 8pm ET with the premiere “Take Me Home Cyprus Rhodes,” which features Veronica Mars, Reaper, and Party Down actor Ken Marino in the role of Rusty’s fellow summer camp counselor.

While Rusty copes with his new existence as a sophomore Kappa Tau resident and engineering major, Casey tries to figure out how to break the news to her BFF Ashleigh that she intends to move out of the Zeta Beta Zeta house. Then there’s the ongoing tension caused by Frannie and her new sorority, which prompts Ashleigh to recruit a spy, whom Casey doesn’t trust, for a little undercover work.

Also, new freshman Andy (Jesse McCartney, Summerland), a student Calvin knows from high school, arrives and immediately attracts the attention of nearly everyone on campus, including Kappa Tau Gamma and Omega Chi Delta reps who want him as a pledge. Either Andy is one insanely awesome guy or the incoming frosh class at Cyprus-Rhodes University is pretty darn small and short on cool kids.

Two sneak peeks at the midseason premiere follow the jump. The first features Casey bumping into Ashleigh, Frannie, and Rebecca after arriving back on campus with Max Tyler (Michael Rady, Swingtown), and the second shows Andy getting a taste of frat life, super-sized Cappie style, with Rusty and Calvin.

Welcome Back, Mr. Monk … And Your Other Brother

January 9, 2009 by Chandra

Tony Shalhoub, Steve Zahn/Monk 7.10

I hope everybody else is as psyched as I am for the return of Tony Shalhoub and his magnificent crime dramedy Monk.

The place to be at 9pm EST tonight is USA Network, which will air the seventh-midseason premiere of the show, a fun episode called “Mr. Monk and the Other Brother.” And, you betcha — it appears Adrian Monk does indeed have another sibling besides John Turturro’s recovered agoraphobic Ambrose, a half brother named Jack Jr. played by Joy Ride etcetera star Steve Zahn.

The action gets rolling at the very beginning of the episode, when poor Monk, busy whipping himself up a stack of perfectly square pancakes one morning, realizes that someone is breaking into his apartment. That someone is Jack, who has just escaped from prison and soon informs Monk that he needs help bringing the person who framed him for murder to justice.

October 7, 2008 by Chandra

The Sarah Silverman ProgramSeason Two of The Sarah Silverman Program resumes tomorrow, October 8, with the midseason premiere “High, It’s Sarah.” Note the spelling of “high,” which leads me to believe Sarah is going to be just that.

Judging from the season preview trailer below, it looks like things are going to be just as tasteful as ever on the show, too. Take a look at what’s in store.

The Sarah Silverman Program airs Wednesdays on Comedy Central at 10:30pm EST.

30 Rock: ‘MILF Island’ Spoilers (4-10-08)

April 5, 2008 by Chandra

30 Rock
Thursday, April 10, NBC’s signature comedy lineup will return in full form. The first sitcom of the night with fresh episodes and fresh off of a Peabody Award win is 30 Rock, of course.

On “MILF Island,” a new reality series of the same name has bossman Jack Donaghy absolutely thrilled over its success … that is, until a popular gossip column reveals an employee has been talking smack about him. Jack being Jack, he then becomes obsessed with outing the disloyal underling.

30 Rock airs Thursdays on NBC at 8:30pm EST.

My Name Is Earl: ‘Stole a Motorcycle’ Spoilers (4-10-08)

April 2, 2008 by Chandra

My Name Is Earl
Apparently, the gang wasn’t too successful reviving Earl on the previous episode of My Name Is Earl because he’s still unconscious when this one, “Stole a Motorcycle,” kicks off. Fortunately, his brother Randy picks up on a weird thing (as he typically does) and then runs with it to help improve Earl’s health.

Earl’s not doing as badly as everyone around him believes, however, because he’s wrapped up in a dream world where he and Billie (Guest Star Alyssa Milano) are blissfully wed. It’s about time Mr. Karma scored in his love life, even if everything is just imagined.

The Teutul family from the TLC series American Chopper also appears.

My Name Is Earl airs Thursdays on NBC at 8pm EST.

My Name Is Earl: ‘I Won’t Die with a Little Help from My Friends’ Spoilers (4-3-08)

April 2, 2008 by Chandra

My Name Is Earl
What have we here? It looks like My Name Is Earl is back in business, with an extended hourlong return, no less!

On the two-part, supersize post-strike premiere “I Won’t Die with a Little Help from My Friends,” the series picks up after the car accident that felled Earl and his new love interest Billie (Guest Star Alyssa Milano) at the end of the January episode “Bad Earl.”

Earl is now in a coma, and it’s up to the usual suspects — namely, Randy, Joy, Darnell, and Catalina — to make sure he doesn’t leave this world forever. Can the gang do it?

I don’t know. Maybe the real healer will be Earl’s dream featuring hotel heiress Paris Hilton. Nightmares like that should wake up just about anybody.

My Name Is Earl will air Thursdays on NBC at 8pm EST after this week’s special post-strike premiere, which also begins at 8pm.
