Next on ‘House of Payne’: Surprise!
June 2, 2009 by Chandra

The two new House of Payne episodes airing on Wednesday, June 3, are the first and second parts of an hourlong storyline called “Surprise!“.
In the first half-hour, Calvin surprises his parents with the $20,000 they need to repair their home, and Janine reveals that CJ has traveled to Chicago in search of employment.
Then, in the second half-hour, Calvin and Miranda continue to experience problems in their relationship as Janine, Malik, and the twins get ready to relocate.
Continue after the jump for a sneak peek at the opening episode, featuring Curtis and Ella.
New ‘House of Payne’ & ‘Meet the Browns’ Arrive Tonight
May 27, 2009 by Chandra
Tyler Perry fans are going to have a great time tonight (May 27).
Not only does the writer and director’s hit sitcom House of Payne return with two new episodes at the earlier time of 9pm and 9:30pm ET, but Season Two of his second hit comedy Meet the Browns opens immediately afterward at 10pm and 10:30pm.
All four episodes coming up were directed by Perry, as well, so continue reading for spoilers and a sneak peek at each series. Are Brown’s PJ’s divine or what? I need me some like that!
House of Payne
9pm - Moving Out
The Payne men are in hot water with their women. While Miranda is upset over Calvin allowing his family to stay in their condo and having a fling thing with Mercedes, Curtis catches it from Ella for his bad attitude about her job.
House of Payne: ‘Bringing Down the House’ Preview
April 29, 2009 by Chandra
Next up on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne are tonight’s (April 29) two new episodes, “Bringing Down the House” at 10pm ET and “Moving Day” at 10:30pm.
During the first episode, the Payne’s are forced to temporarily move out of their own when Curtis, attempting to save money, hires an incompetent contractor to repair its foundation. While that’s going on, Ella’s relationship with Paul, the man she met at the mall, grows closer.
On the following episode, Curtis gets a taste of his own behavior when he, Ella, and Malik move in with Calvin and Miranda for awhile, and Calvin treats him the same way he used to treat Calvin when they lived under the same roof earlier. CJ, Janine, and the children stay with her parents in Florida, however.
Continue after the jump for a sneak peek at the 10pm episode, “Bringing Down the House,” and remember four repeats precede it from 8pm to 10pm ET: the three-part “Trial By Fire” and “Reality Check.”
House of Payne: ‘With Friends Like These’ Preview
Tonight’s two new episodes of House of Payne are “With Friends Like These” at 10pm ET and “The Talent Show” at 10:30pm.
Malik befriends HIV-positive Jeremy during the first episode when other kids at school harass Jeremy and Malik sticks up for him. And at the boutique, Consuela fills in temporarily for Rosie, who gets sick.
The second episode is even more bombastic because it features very, very, very special guest star Gladys Knight! Love her to pieces.
The soul diva arrives in town to help out when the firehouse falls victim to budget cuts and is scheduled to close. As a result, neighbors unite and scramble to assist the now unemployed firefighters by raising money.
I like the plots for both of these episodes. Follow the jump to watch a two-minute boutique sneak peek at the first one, “With Friends Like These.” Wish the preview was for the second installment so we could catch a glimpse of Gladys in action, but that just leaves more to be excited about.
House of Payne: ‘I Dont Know This Payne’ Preview
April 14, 2009 by Chandra
The two new episodes of TBS’ House of Payne premiering tomorrow, April 15, are “I Don’t Know This Payne” at 10pm ET and “Paul Mall” at 10:30pm.
During the first episode, Ella and Rosie decide to get jobs when they grow tired of always being broke and dependent on others for money. Complications inevitably follow, however, even though they succeed finding work and their husbands are thrilled about their new wife-free time.
The second new episode finds Ella meeting a man named Paul at the mall where she now works, and she’s impressed with his kindness, good looks, and excellent manners. Elsewhere, disaster results when Diego asks Calvin and Miranda to butt their noses into Mercedes’ new relationship to get the goods on the man she’s dating.
As usual, four repeats of House of Payne will air from 8pm to 10pm (Heavy Petting, The Fast and the Furious, Gone In 60 Seconds, and Lost Without U), and a two-minute sneak peek at “I Don’t Know This Payne” follows the jump.

Heads up, Tyler Perry fans! The highly anticipated third season of House of Payne is almost here. It kicks off at 10pm EST on Wednesday, December 3, with a pair of brand-new back-to-back episodes.
The hour of comedy is a two-parter called “Labor Paynes,” and just as the title hints, it involves a birth. During Part One, both Janine and C.J. and Miranda and Calvin get married in the delivery room of a hospital. Then, in the conclusion, Janine has trouble coping after giving birth to twins.
If you’re a House of Payne fanatic or just need to catch up on events, also make sure to catch the four encore episodes from the end of Season Two that precede the hourlong third-season premiere: “Party Over Here!” (8pm), “The Last Supper” (8:30pm), “We’ve Come This Far By Faith, Part 1″ (9pm), and “We’ve Come This Far By Faith, Part 2″ (9:30pm).
New episodes of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne premiere Wednesdays on TBS from 10pm–11pm EST, while encores air Wednesdays from 8pm–10pm.
Catch a Comedy TV Marathon on Labor Day
August 29, 2008 by Chandra
Monday, September 1 is Labor Day in the United States. If there’s nothing special on your radar, several networks have TV marathons scheduled that feature popular comedies, new and old:
I Love Lucy, 8am–2pm EST on TV Land
Monk, 100th Episode Countdown, 6am–7pm EST on USA
My Wife and Kids, 12pm–10pm EST on ABC Family
Scrubs, 4pm–11pm EST on TV Land – Note that some episodes will repeat during the marathon, although I have no idea why since the show’s been on almost a decade, and the series begins airing daily from 9pm–10pm EST on September 2nd
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Season Two, 10am–8pm EST on TBS
