‘Chuck Versus the Ring’ Season-Finale Preview

April 26, 2009 by Chandra

Sarah Lancaster/Chuck 2.22

It’s almost Ellie-Awesome wedding time on Chuck finally, or is it? Hard to say from that utterly distressed look on Ellie’s face above.

Chuck Versus the Ring,” the second-season finale of NBC’s best (and only) spy dramedy airs tomorrow, April 27, at 8pm ET, and we loyal fans expect some nuptial action that has been in the making for quite some time.

Unfortunately, both Fulcrum and Chevy Chase’s evil Ted Roark have other plans that just might derail the anticipated ceremony before it even has the opportunity to begin.

‘Chuck Versus the Dream Job’ Preview

April 5, 2009 by Chandra

Chevy Chase, Zachary Levi, Scott Bakula/Chuck 2.19

Chuck Versus the Dream Job,” tomorrow night’s new episode of Chuck, is the big one, my fellow fans. Sure, it was great having Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer stop by last week during “Chuck Versus the Broken Heart,” but the latest adventures of the world’s only Human Intersect (I assume) will feature highly anticipated guest stars Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) as long lost Daddy Bartowski and Chevy Chase as Ted Roark, Chuck’s new boss at his titular dream job.

Tricia Helfer Time on ‘Chuck’

March 29, 2009 by Chandra

ChuckTomorrow night’s fresh episode of Chuck is called “Chuck Versus the Broken Heart,” and it’s the one featuring Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer, of course.

Everybody’s favorite Cylon is back in the spy game, à la her recent guest stint on Burn Notice, as Agent Alex Forrest. The official episode synopsis describes the character as “heartless,” and she arrives on the scene to give Sarah a job review after Chuck chooses the wrong time to discuss his (in)tense relationship with his handler. And while that’s unfolding, annoyingly persistent Jeff and Lester do their best to infiltrate Devon’s bachelor’s party (and they succeed!).

Three clips follow the jump: the first is a sneak peek at sort of undercover Agent Forrest “entertaining” the guys at Devon’s get together, the second another sneak peek at Chuck and Alex playing doctor and nurse (explosions erupt), and the third a behind-the-scenes interview with Helfer for Entertainment Tonight in her home country Canada. Clearly, this is one of the most anticipated episodes of Chuck this season or last, and I predict it’s going to be very much worth the wait.

‘Chuck’ Faces a Predator Tomorrow

March 22, 2009 by Chandra

ChuckI really missed NBC’s Chuck during its one week off, so thank goodness the show returns tomorrow, March 23, with the brand-new episode “Chuck Versus the Predator.”

Even better, fans are now just one week away from the March 30 episode “Chuck Versus the Broken Heart.” That’s the one featuring the widely anticipated guest star appearance by Battlestar Galactica and Burn Notice fan favorite Tricia Helfer.

But first, on tomorrow’s episode, while our familiar Burbank-based Buy More crew takes on the posh Beverly Hills branch, Chuck not only has contact with the person who supposedly invented the Intersect, but he also must decide whether or not he wants to let that person attempt to remove the Intersect from his head once and for all.

Sure, Chuck has been jonesing for such sweet relief ever since Bryce Larkin rocked his world almost two seasons ago. I’m guessing, however, that the procedure would be much easier said than done, and that Sarah, Casey, and General Beckman might have something to say about it, too. Which people will Chuck trust, then, with his brain and his life?

Tune in tomorrow night at 8pm EST to find out, and take a look at the promo for “Chuck Versus the Predator” after the jump. Yes, that’s Tricia Helfer for a nanosecond in the clip dolled up in orange like Sarah, so I hope viewers get an early introduction to her intriguing character Agent Alex Forrest.

Andy Richter & Jenny McCarthy Guest on ‘Chuck Versus the Suburbs’

February 11, 2009 by Chandra

Andy Richter, Jenny McCarthy/Chuck 2.13

I reckon the February 16th episode of Chuck called “Chuck Versus the Suburbs” is going to be yet another prime specimen of non-stop, supremely funny entertainment, thanks in part to guest stars Andy Richter (Andy Barker, P.I.) and Jenny McCarthy (Two and a Half Men). After looking at the episode photos, let me venture a guess that they’re doubling as the bad guys, too.

Andy Richter/Chuck 2.13

When Chuck and Sarah’s latest assignment forces them to pose as a happily married couple living in the suburbs, they meet a variety of interesting people, including Brad (Richter), a cheerful next-door neighbor in the stationary business, and Sylvia (McCarthy), a seductive woman who lives across the street and has her eye on Chuck.

3D ‘Chuck’ Rocked the Ratings

February 3, 2009 by Chandra

ChuckChuck Versus the Third Dimension,” the special all-3D episode of Chuck and the show’s first fresh installment of 2009, did good last night. In fact, the episode was so watched, it scored the highest ratings of the season for the series, which fans know is one of the best shows on television these days.

Says NBC in an appropriately jubilant press release: “Last night at 8 p.m. ET, “Chuck” returned with a special 3-D episode to score its highest 18-49 rating and biggest overall viewership of the season, a 3.0 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.3 million viewers overall. Versus its “live plus same day” season-to-date average, “Chuck” last night was up 20 percent in 18-49 rating (3.0 vs. 2.5) and 24 percent in total viewers, despite formidable time-period competition from Fox’s “House,” CBS’s “Big Bang Theory” and “How I Met Your Mother” and ABC’s “The Bachelor.” In 18-49, this is NBC’s highest rating in the time period in 11 months (since February 25, 2008).”

Woot! Unfortunately, I couldn’t find my 3D glasses in time to watch the installment properly during its premiere. But, I just found a pair today, so I’m gonna do the deed online. Anybody and everybody can check out the episode, in both 3D and 2D, right on the Web at the show’s NBC site. Each full episode will be online until April 3rd, so just click one of the following links: 2D Version | 3D Version

‘Chuck Versus the Third Dimension’ Preview

January 28, 2009 by Chandra

Zachary Levi/Chuck 2.12

NBC is rolling out the sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes clips for next Monday’s Chuck, “Chuck Versus the Third Dimension,” the first fresh episode of the sophomore series in 2009.

This is the one in 3D where Lost alum Dominic Monaghan drops by to reprise his role as Charlie Pace play a rock star who causes Chuck Bartowski some serious headaches after the team rescues him from certain death.

Take a look at the earlier post “Preview: Dominic Monaghan in ‘Chuck Versus the Third Dimension’” to see the guest star in action, and follow the jump for a couple of video clips that provide an in-depth look at the episode.

I can’t wait for Chuck to get started again, especially since the show has so many great guest stars and plotlines coming up. If you’re a fan, make sure to begin tuning in on February 2 to help raise the ratings as high as possible and encourage NBC to reward the series with a third season.

Now on to the videos after the jump, the first of which features guest Monaghan among the cast members interviewed.

Preview: Dominic Monaghan in ‘Chuck Versus the Third Dimension’

January 20, 2009 by Chandra

Yvonne Strahovski, Zachary Levi, Adam Baldwin/ChuckIf you haven’t heard yet, Lost alum Dominic Monaghan has an upcoming guest-star gig on the very special February 2 episode of Chuck called “Chuck Versus the Third Dimension.”

The episode’s not just a big deal because of Monaghan, of course, but also because (1) it’s the first new Chuck of 2009 and (2) it will supposedly be broadcast in exciting 3-D. I say supposedly because I’ve tried watching 3-D TV and movies before, and neither ever did a thing for me. Maybe this time will be the charm.

Monaghan plays — surprise … not! — a rock star, this one named Tyler Martin. When the international sensation becomes the target of deadly crooks, Team Chuck steps in and saves his butt. Dear old Chuck then has second thoughts about that turn of events when he and Tyler have all kinds of problems during a night hanging out.

Fall Finale: Chuck Versus Santa Claus

December 14, 2008 by Chandra

Zachary Levi, Adam Baldwin/Chuck 2.11

It’s time to say goodbye for now to the merry Buy More gang we all know and love. Monday’s episode is Chuck’s second-season fall finale, and the show plans to deliver one last holiday-inspired misadventure, this one called “Chuck Versus Santa Claus,” before heading off to hiatus.

When a small-time crook literally crashes into Buy More on Christmas Eve and then holds Ellie, Devon, Chuck, and other staff members hostage, Sarah and Casey prepare to storm the store to save their so-called asset.

Mr. and Mrs. Awesome Visit ‘Chuck’

November 29, 2008 by Chandra

Bruce Boxleitner, Morgan Fairchild/Chuck 2.09

The forthcoming December 1 episode of Chuck called “Chuck Versus the Sensei” is going to be a good one, guaranteed.

Now that it’s almost time for Chuck’s big sister Ellie to get hitched to awesome Devon, let’s meet his parents, Drs. Honey and Woody Woodcomb. They’re played by television icons Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest, Flamingo Road) and Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5, Scarecrow and Mrs. King), which is more than enough reason to tune in for their arrival.

Another excellent motivation is to see Alias veteran Carl Lumbly portray one more kick-ass spy, this time Casey’s sensei mentor Ty Bennett, whom the NSA agent is shocked to learn may have turned rogue. There’s no way this plotline can be anything less than spook-tastic.

Check out the Meet the Awesomes behind-the-scenes look at Monday’s episode after the jump, featuring the superbly cast Fairchild and Boxleitner. Both actors still look great after all these years, don’t they?
