Californication: ‘La Petite Mort’ Preview
December 8, 2008 by Chandra
It’s a night of finales on Showtime this Sunday, December 14, and closing out the evening of entertainment is Californication’s last episode of its second season called “La Petite Mort.”
Although Hank finally completes the biography of Lew Ashby, he’s probably more ecstatic over the fact that, after Sonja gives birth, there’s absolutely no doubt whatsoever he’s not her baby’s daddy. I figure the only way that can happen is if the newborn is clearly mixed race or what have you.
Elsewhere, Mia heads off on her extensive book tour; Charlie learns that Daisy gets around, if you know what I mean; and Karen opts to return to New York for a job, prompting Hank to decide to remain in California when Becca gets back together with Damien and doesn’t want to go. Just when you thought things might finally work out for Hank and Karen…
Watch Becca discuss her love troubles and Karen break her Big Apple news to Hank in the season’s last two sneak peeks after the jump, Broken Heart and Dream Job, respectively.
Californication: ‘Blues from Laurel Canyon’ Preview
December 7, 2008 by Chandra
Just days after Californication’s renewal for a third season, the series presents the penultimate episode of the second season, tonight’s “Blues from Laurel Canyon.” The central character? Coke, and I don’t mean Pepsi’s No. 1 rival either.
Marcy has to muster all of her resolve not to do some when she gets out of rehab, probably even more so when Charlie reveals he wants a divorce after seeing Daisy with another man.
Lew Ashby also does some bad cocaine to muster all of his courage to meet with Janie Jones when she comes to his house, right after his release party for Mia, where Karen tells Hank she hasn’t read Mia’s new book.
Sneak a peek at the episode after the jump in the two videos Fingerprints and Underestimated. Of course, they’re both all about Hank.
Californication: ‘In Utero’ Preview
November 30, 2008 by Chandra
On the November 30 installment of Californication, Hank takes a trip “In Utero,” so to speak, as he ponders his complicated relationship with Karen while waiting for the results of his biopsy. During his reverie, we learn that the couple’s initial hookup was related to the death of a well-known rock star.
The two sneak peeks after the jump feature a little game of tag between Hank and Lew Ashby in Hank vs. Lew (idiots!) and a little chitchat between Hank and Charlie in Wasted Time.
Hope I’m not the only person absolutely loving having Callum Keith Rennie around so much as Lew. Somebody please give the man his own show now that Battlestar Galactica will be heading into the twilight soon.
Californication: ‘La Ronde’ Preview
The upcoming November 23 episode of Showtime’s Californication has the title “La Ronde.”
While Hank and Janie Jones sort-of date, Karen does the same with Lew Ashby. Still, the estranged couple end up hooking up soon after, which is great, until Karen discovers a lump on Hank’s body. Will disease mark the next stage of their already complicated and difficult relationship?
Elsewhere, Charlie lords over Marcy’s waxing salon while she’s busy with rehab, and he and Daisy eventually discover their mutual thing for Dirty Dancing.
This episode’s two sneak peeks feature Karen and Lew on their date in Beautiful Evening and Charlie and Daisy hanging out together in Friends Don’t Let Friends Wallow.
Californication: ‘Going Down and Out in Beverly Hills’ Preview
November 16, 2008 by Chandra
Coming up on Californication this Sunday, November 16, is “Going Down and Out in Beverly Hills.”
Hank hangs out at Janie Jones’ house to learn about her relationship with Lew Ashby and ends up spending some quality time with her maid Rosario.
Karen goes to see Ashby when she learns of his affair with Mia.
And Charlie gets cozy with Daisy while Marcy is at her mother’s house.
The two sneak peeks after the jump show Hank angling for an interview in Hockey Dad and Karen digging into Lew about his relationship with Mia before taking a plunge in Young Girls. Ouch!
Californication: ‘Coke Dick & the First Kick’ Preview
Who comes up with these titles?!
On “Coke Dick & the First Kick,” the oddly named November 2 episode of Californication, Hank discovers that Sonja’s relationship with Julian is open after he unexpectedly sees the latter in a compromising position. And, when he’s not but busy bursting in at the wrong moment, Hank also manages to find Lew Ashby’s lost love, a Beverly Hills mom named Janie Jones.
Elsewhere, on the porn front, Vaginatown moves to a new filming location at the Runkle home following a few set difficulties, and Charlie is forced to deliver the so-called money shot when the lead actor isn’t “up” to the task.
Two sneak peeks follow the jump featuring Marcy learning what’s become of her house in New Location and Hank and Karen discussing Julian’s alleged infidelity in Open Relationship.
Californication: ‘Vaginatown’ Preview
October 26, 2008 by Chandra
Oh, my — what a title…
Coming up on Californication is the October 26 episode “Vaginatown.”
The title refers to a porn film of the same name, which Charlie’s new client Daisy is all kinds of anxious to star in. Charlie manages to secure the lead role for her, but at a cost of $100,000 of his own money.
Meanwhile, poor Hank, kicked to the curb by Karen, squats at Ashby’s mansion, where he’s treated to a so-called “sex session” with an irritating celebrity chef named Chloe Metz.
Watch Lew cook breakfast for Hank in Breakfast and Hank and Karen run into each other at Becca’s school in Wednesday, this episode’s two sneak peeks after the jump.
