Burn Notice: Jeffrey and Gabrielle Season 3 Photos

Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice

USA Network’s hot spy dramedy Burn Notice opens its 16-episode third season on Thursday, June 4, exactly two weeks from today.

How cool is that?! Well, almost as cool as the rare photo above showing ace axed spook Michael Westen flat out smiling. With teeth showing!

Keep on going to check out a few cast photos of Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan, also known as Michael, and his lovely colleague Gabrielle Anwar, who plays fierce, danger-loving spygirl/backup/butt kicker Fiona Glenanne, of course.

You know a show rocks when the supporting cast is just as bad as the lead. Can’t wait for Season Three to finally kick off!

‘Burn Notice’ Is Now Cable’s Hottest Show

March 9, 2009 by Chandra

Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice 2.16

The Nielsen numbers are in for last week’s second-season Burn Notice finale “Lesser Evil,” and the message is clear: USA Network’s engaging spy dramedy ended the season on a ratings high, literally. Consequently, as Variety puts it, the series is “now the hottest show on cable” (emphasis mine). As if we fans didn’t see that coming.

The episode attracted a total of 6.1 million viewers overall, 2.7 million of which were in the coveted 18–49 demographic. That impressive performance allowed the sophomore show to surpass TNT’s Kyra Sedgwick crime drama The Closer, the previous top cable draw.

What a fantastic wrap-up to an outstanding and thrilling run. Bring on Season Three!

Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice 2.16

It’s time for the Season Two finale of USA Network’s hot Burn Notice, and I promise fans this one, “Lesser Evil,” is a wall-to-wall scorcher. You do not want to miss it.

Not only does Michael learn a few unexpected things about his fellow burned spy Victor (Michael Shanks), but he and Carla (Tricia Helfer) also have the confrontation that’s been steadily building up all season long.

A Little Dish on ‘Chuck’ from Tricia Helfer

Tricia Helfer/Burn Notice 2.11

One of the best parts of the current television season for me has been getting the opportunity to participate in interviews with every regular cast member of USA Network’s deserving hit Burn Notice.

As next week’s season finale rapidly approaches, it was Season Two newcomer Tricia Helfer (Carla) and series star Jeffrey Donovan’s (Michael Westen) turn in the hot seat this week. [Read last month's post featuring icon Bruce Campbell here.]

The chat with Helfer, who also stars as Cylon Number Six on Sci Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica, was especially informative since she gladly discussed all three of the popular TV shows she’s currently aligned with. They would be Burn Notice and Battlestar Galactica, of course, as well as the dramedy Chuck.

Burn Notice: ‘Sins of Omission’ Preview

February 24, 2009 by Chandra

Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice 2.15

Uh-oh, my fellow Burn Notice fans. We’re getting down to the wire on the series this week since Thursday’s fresh episode, “Sins of Omission,” is the next-to-last installment of the current second season.

And, what a thrilling ride it’s been, complete with an abundance of top-notch guest stars and recurring talent, ranging from Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer to Stargate veteran Michael Shanks to one-timers like former 4400 star Joel Gretsch. I have not a single complaint about how the show has progressed during Season Two.

Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice 2.14

Next up on Burn Notice this Thursday, February 19, is the fresh episode “Truth and Reconciliation,” featuring the return of Stargate vet Michael Shanks as bad, bad spy-guy Victor.

Michael’s latest case is one he takes on due to sympathy for the victim, the father of a Haitian woman murdered by a corrupt government official who seems to be hiding out in Miami. The strategy is to reveal the fugitive’s true identity in order to return him to Haiti while Michael also continues to track down the person responsible for trying to kill him.

Follow the jump for a sneak peek at “Truth and Reconciliation.” Warning: Violence, blood, and falls from high places involved. The episode’s promo is included, as well.

TV Divas Invade NBC’s Comedy Lineup

February 12, 2009 by Chandra

My Name Is EarlI guarantee that fans of old-school nighttime soaps are gonna love MY NAME IS EARL’s brand-new episode “Friends with Benefits” tonight at 8pm EST. It features Falcon Crest’s Morgan Fairchild and Knots Landing’s Joan Van Ark as guest stars. How sweet is that?

Now all we need is somebody from Dallas and the nostalgic circle of joy would be complete. Also dropping by during the episode is Less Than Perfect alumna Andrea Parker.

When Mr. Turtle finds his way home after being lost, Earl decides to return him to Darnell, who’s in Witness Protection and currently living in an upscale community with his family. Joy struggles to adjust to their new wealthy lifestyle and fit in with her trophy-wife neighbors, while back in Camden, Randy accidentally starts dating a guy named Jim (!).

Following at 8:30pm are divas Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde) and Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live) on KATH & KIM’s “Celebrity“: When Kath decides to audition for a community production of Cats after watching the performance of local celebrity Lenore (Coolidge), she prepares for the trials and tribulations of fame by asking Athena (Rudolph) for spiritual guidance. Meanwhile, Phil gives Kim a job at his sandwich shop, which leads to some surprising results.

‘The 4400’s Joel Gretsch Goes for the ‘Burn’

February 5, 2009 by Chandra

Joel Gretsch, Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice 2.12

I still miss USA Network’s sci-fi series The 4400, so I’m really psyched for tonight’s new episode of Burn Notice called “Seek and Destroy,” which features none other than The 4400’s Joel Gretsch as the main guest star. He plays a character named Scott Chandler, and it looks like this installment is going to rake in yet more great ratings for the series.

Joel Gretsch, Jeffrey Donovan/Burn Notice 2.12

During his latest client mission, Michael poses as a corporate security specialist to help a wealthy art dealer track down a hacker in the company. However, the security breach turns out to be more complicated than Michael or his client imagined, and things take a deadly turn, as usual.

Do Gretsch and series star Jeffrey Donovan look ultra cool or what? Perfect pairing.

Burn Notice airs Thursdays on USA at 10pm EST.

Next on ‘Burn Notice’: Hot Spot

January 29, 2009 by Chandra

Jeffrey Donovan, Michael Irving, Bruce Campbell/Burn Notice 2.11

On the next episode of Burn Notice, tonight’s “Hot Spot,” Michael, Fiona, and Sam pretend to be a gang of ruthless car thieves.

The undercover work is for their latest case targeting a thug who has been threatening a local high school football star. When they’re not busy with that, Michael and Fiona also manage to locate the person responsible for trying to murder Michael by setting up the bomb that torched his loft.

Michael Irving guest stars as Coach Sean Martin on this one. And, unless my eyes are deceiving me, that’s former Blade: The Series star Kirk Jones, also known as Onyx hip-hopper Sticky Fingaz, playing the lead bad guy in the promo video after the jump. Very nice.

Follow the cut for a few “Hot Spot” photos and the promo clip just mentioned.
