The dark dramedy Breaking Bad, AMC’s second original series following the hit Mad Men, stars Malcolm in the Middle alum Bryan Cranston as middle-aged high-school chemistry teacher Walter White. When Walter learns that he has terminal Stage III cancer, leaving him with just two years to live, he takes an unusual approach to securing his struggling family’s financial future.
With assistance from a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Big Love’s Aaron Paul), he starts a mobile drug lab capable of manufacturing high-quality crystal meth. The newfound dangerous side job as a drug dealer reflects Walter’s newfound invigorated lease on life now that he knows his days are dwindling down.
Breaking Bad also stars Anna Gunn (Deadwood) as Walter’s wife Skyler and newcomer RJ Mitte as his teenage son Walter Jr., who suffers from cerebral palsy.
