Aliens in America Summary
Aliens in America Episode Guide | Aliens in America Website
The CW’s fish-out-of-water sitcom Aliens in America introduces the world to two teenagers who appear to be galaxies apart due to their dissimilar heritage, yet very similar at the same time as a result of their low status on the social totem pole.
Dan Byrd (The Hills Have Eyes) plays sixteen-year-old Justin Tolchuck, an introverted Wisconsin high school student whose shyness only slides him further down the aforementioned pole. To help him get out of this rut, his meddling mother Franny (Amy Pietz of Caroline in the City) concocts the farfetched plan of acquiring a “cool” exchange student from abroad to instantly up her son’s appeal to the in-crowd.
Of course, the whole plan backfires when in place of a handsome social butterfly, the family is instead matched with a studious Pakistani Muslim named Raja Musharaff (South Africa’s Adhir Kalyan of Fair City). The series will then focus on the various events that occur as Raja and his American hosts live and learn together despite their monumental cultural differences.
Aliens in America co-stars Gilmore Girls alum Scott Patterson as Justin’s father Gary (he replaces original cast member Patrick Breen) and Lindsey Shaw of Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide as his younger, popular sister Claire.
