The Big Bang Theory | 9:30pm

The Large Hadron Collision: Since he’s only allowed to bring one guest, Leonard must decide who to take with him on a Valentine’s Day trip to Switzerland to see the largest and highest energy particle accelerator in the world, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. The title refers to lucky Barney, who’s having a fantabulous week thanks to his skills almost hooking up with seven women in seven days.

And since the rest of the gang isn’t experiencing the same good fortune — they’re actually going through a lousy period — Barney’s pals step up and cheer him on as he nears the score that will make his week absolutely, unforgettably perfect.

Also of note is guest star Amanda Peet (The X Files: I Want to Believe, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) as the title character Jenkins.

While Robin deals with the discovery that she has inspired a drinking game that’s all about her, Marshall copes with Lily’s refusal to believe that his pretty coworker Jenkins kissed him. So, I wonder just how far Marshall will have to go to prove to his wife that what he says happened actually happened.

The big event will occur at 8pm ET on Monday, January 11, which also happens to be the series’ first fresh episode of 2010. Called “Girls Vs. Suits,” it features a predictable slew of guest stars, too.

Making an appearance for the very special occasion are The O.C.’s Rachel Bilson as the character Cindy, Stacy Keibler of Dancing with the Stars as a bartender named Karina, and dapper Project Runway icon Tim Gunn cameoing as himself.

The plot goes like this: Barney serves as the inspiration for a sure-to-be-awesome musical number when he struggles to decide if his suits are worth giving up for the possibility of hooking up with attractive bartender Karina. And not to be outdone, Ted inches closer toward meeting the titular mother.

CBS is laying the videos on thick for this noteworthy episode, so check out all four below. The last one, The Cast’s Favorite Moments, is a particularly fun and long 4½-minute featurette. Apparently, there will be lots of suiting up committed by everyone.

But he doesn’t play an actual character. Instead, he provides the voice for what Lily sounds like when she’s smoking, and if you’ve heard Fierstein’s distinctive voice, you know how surreal that’s gonna be.

The episode follows the gang as the members do their darnedest to stop smoking. Meanwhile, Robin finds herself at odds with a new colleague at work, who doesn’t have the best outlook on life.
