It’s about time! Quirky — to put it mildly — Comedy Central series The Sarah Silverman Program launches its long-awaited third season on Thursday, February 4, at 10:30pm ET.

First up during the ten-episode run is the season premiere, which has the undeniably charming title “The Proof Is in the Penis.”

Yay! ABC’s Better Off Ted, one of my current favorite sitcoms, opens its second season on December 8 with the premiere “Love Blurts.”

Some folks who wouldn’t normally watch might want to tune in because the episode features guest star Taye Diggs of Private Practice and Day Break.

Cheer up, Scrubs fans. The long-running medical sitcom opens its 13-episode ninth season on Tuesday, December 1.

The transplanted NBC series is also marking its second season on ABC with the premiere episode “Our First Day of School,” which was written by series creator Bill Lawrence.

The fourth season of the popular TBS comedy Tyler Perry’s House of Payne kicks off on November 4 with two brand-new, back-to-back episodes directed by former Facts of Life star Kim Fields. Toot! Toot!

First up at 9pm ET is the season premiere “Where’s The Payne?.”

NBC’s Emmy-winning sitcom 30 Rock opens its fourth season on October 15 at 9:30pm ET, and guest star Steve Buscemi (The Sopranos, Fargo) is along for the ride to reprise his role as Lenny Wosniak.

During the premiere succinctly titled “Season 4,” the 30 Rockefeller Plaza gang struggles with the recession and money matters. Yeah, that’s a popular theme on TV shows these days.

30 Rock star and 2009 supporting comedy actor Emmy nominee Tracy Morgan is back hosting the fall run of Syfy’s (previously known as the Sci Fi Channel) entertaining reality horror series Scare Tactics.

The candid-camera-style show resumes its third season on October 6 at 9pm ET with the premiere episode “Basket Case.”

The Lifetime original comedy Rita Rocks opens its second season on October 5 at 7:30pm ET with the premiere “A Change is Gonna Come.”

Fox’s ‘Til Death opens its fourth season on October 2 with the premiere “Doug and Ally Return.”

The first thing longtime viewers might notice about the show is that Season Three regular J.B. Smoove, who played Eddie Stark’s overgrown “little brother” Kenny, is gone.

The 12-episode third season of Showtime’s raunchy original sitcom Californication kicks off at 10pm ET on September 27 with the premiere episode “Wish You Were Here.”

A noteworthy treat for fans is the fact that series star David Duchovny directed the season opener, which features a slew of talented guest stars that include Jason Beghe (Cane), Embeth Davidtz (In Treatment), Diane Farr (Num3ers), Peter Gallagher (The O.C.), Kathleen Turner (Romancing the Stone), and Alicia Witt (Law & Order: Criminal Intent).

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jay Mohr kick off CBS’ fall Wednesday-night comedy block on September 23 with their respective sitcoms The New Adventures of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried.

Getting the hour started is the “Bahamian Rhapsody” Season Five premiere of Old Christine at 8pm ET, featuring guest star James Lesure of Lipstick Jungle, Las Vegas.
