Great News for BBC America Fans
April 30, 2008 by Chandra

The BBC has announced an exciting development. As of yesterday, April 29, U.S. television fans can purchase and download several hit BBC America titles at the iTunes Store for the first time ever.
The three shows available thus far are the award-winning comedy Little Britain, the folklore drama Robin Hood, and the science-fiction Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood.
Robin Hood just premiered its second season on BBC America last Saturday, and new episodes of the current season will be available at iTunes 24 hours after they debut on the cable network. Episodes of all three titles will cost a standard $1.99 each, as well.
If you’re a fan of BBC America programs and also like having the option of downloading shows for whatever reason, the latest news should make your day.
Downloadable Comedy TV Available Now: Pilots, Pilots, Pilots

And all for free, free, free! Of course, you can catch other genres besides comedy online at no cost, too, such as last Monday’s K-Ville pilot and Prison Break third-season premiere from Fox, not to mention next week’s Journeyman and Life pilots from NBC.
This blog and post are all about the funny, though, which means last week’s Back to You pilot and ‘Til Death second-season premiere from Fox, in addition to this Monday’s Big Bang Theory pilot from CBS and Chuck pilot from NBC. As I write, all are available legally (Look, ma! No BitTorrents!) and free of charge through Amazon’s Unbox service.
In the meantime, some networks (which obviously excludes NBC) are also sharing the wealth with iTunes lovers. If Apple’s DRM is your preferred flavor, you can visit the TV Shows section of the iTunes Store to grab pilot and season-premiere downloads of the previously mentioned Fox sitcoms Back to You and ‘Til Death, as well as the Fox series American Dad, Bones, K-Ville, Kitchen Nightmares, and Prison Break.
Keep in mind, however, that no matter who’s giving it away for free at any given moment, these kinds of offers through pay services always only last for a limited amount of time. So, download early and download often, kids.
