The Factory: ‘Camping’ Spoilers (8-3-08)

August 2, 2008 by Chandra

The FactoryWell, this is it folks. The first-season finale for Spike TV’s unfunny first-ever original comedy The Factory has arrived. The freshman run has been mercifully brief at just half a dozen episodes, and as I’ve mentioned before, I’m very, very eager to learn what decision the network reaches about renewing this series.

I’ve noticed that in recent weeks, the scheduled repeat episodes haven’t aired although programming guides continue to list them. Is that a warning or just coincidence? Who knows…

On the season finale “Camping,” after two of the guys go to one of their kids’ Career Day at school, the resulting depression — I assume arising from the realization that their lives don’t resemble anything like those of normal adults — causes them to join the other two guys on a camping trip. Things get stupid from there, as usual.

The customary two sneak peeks follow the jump. So, enjoy if you’re a fan, because they may very well be the last two previews the series ever has.

The Factory: ‘Model Employee’ Spoilers (7-27-08)

July 27, 2008 by Chandra

The FactoryOnly one episode of Spike TV’s unfunny The Factory remains after this week’s installment, and I cannot wait to see if the network dares to renew it. There’s been no word on that front yet.

If you have a really strong constitution and actually think the show is funny, though, here’s what’s happening on the July 27 episode called “Model Employee“: The four dudes who work in the factory get the insane idea that ladies will love to see them in a calendar when a photographer arrives in town looking for “rugged” models.

Also, the show will recycle a storyline I saw last season on ABC’s defunct sitcom Notes from the Underbelly when one of the factory guys takes a baby to the park in order to meet what he would probably call hot chicks. Hopefully, the strategy won’t work.

Two previews follow the jump. However, if you’ve never watched the series before, proceed with extreme caution.

The Factory: ‘The Builtgood Screwcutter 5000’ Spoilers (7-20-08)

July 20, 2008 by Chandra

The FactoryOn “The Builtgood Screwcutter 5000,” the July 20 episode of Spike TV’s unfunny first original comedy The Factory, one of the workers is hurt badly enough on the job to require a trip to the emergency room, and another enjoys the company of a widower.

A couple of preview clips follow the jump for the courageous. As you will quickly see, they feature two of the show’s main characters acting like idiots at the hospital, which is basically the main theme of every episode.

Reno 911!: 5.16 ‘The Parade’ Recap

July 14, 2008 by Chandra

Reno 911!
Original Air Date: July 10, 2008

NOTE: This series and recap contain very mature themes and language.

Well, Lieutenant Dangle sure is excited on the fifth-season finale of Reno 911!. The reason is the upcoming statewide Law Enforcement Parade that will take place in Carson City. While the boss seems to think the team agreed to go with the theme “Together We Are United,” Jones ends up hitting him with a chair because he’s convinced the agreed-upon theme is “We Can Do This.”

The Factory: ‘The Drug Test’ Spoilers (7-13-08)

July 13, 2008 by Chandra

The FactoryAre you still watching Spike TV’s first original comedy ever? If so, give yourself a pat on the back for your high level of tolerance.

On “The Drug Test,” the July 13 episode of The Factory, one of the boys, er, guys finds some marijuana, and the entire group starts acting even sillier.

No, actually, the factory workers have to make it through a subsequent investigation in order to keep the jobs they already do so lousily. If you really want to subject yourself to them, a couple of preview clips follow.

Reno 911!: ‘The Parade’ Season Finale Tonight

July 10, 2008 by Chandra

Reno 911!The current fifth season of Comedy Central’s Reno 911! comes to a close tonight at 10:30pm EST with the finale “513.”

For reasons that shall remain unexplained until the episode airs — and probably still won’t make sense then — the always enterprising staff members of the Reno Sheriff’s Department take it upon themselves to pursue winning a local parade’s award for “Patriotic Float of the Year.”

Surprisingly, I can’t wait to see their float, especially after watching the following preview that shows the initial stages of its construction.

Reno 911! airs Thursdays on Comedy Central at 10:30pm EST.

The Factory: ‘The Lemon’ Spoilers (7-6-08)

July 6, 2008 by Chandra

The FactoryAfter watching last week’s premiere episode “The Pilot,” I have to admit I’m not in the least optimistic about the future of Spike TV’s first original comedy series The Factory. In fact, I think I’ve finally discovered a show so awful it rivals MyNetworkTV’s unforgivably bad Under One Roof.

On tonight’s second episode, “The Lemon,” one of the factory guys suffers car pains, and the entire group heads to a sorority party to get lucky. For the sake of the young women in attendance, I hope that doesn’t come close to happening for any of the four men-children.

If you dare, take a look at a couple of sneak peeks for the episode below.

Reno 911!: 5.15 ‘Undercover Acting Coach’ Preview

July 3, 2008 by Chandra

Reno 911!On “Undercover Acting Coach,” the July 3 episode of Reno 911!, the Sheriff’s Department gang welcomes a very special guest star — actor-comedian Ryan Stiles, an alum of The Drew Carey Show.

Stiles’ character is brought onboard to help the bumbling law enforcement officers kick their undercover skills up a notch or, better yet, ten. His method of accomplishing that (impossible) goal is to teach the staff how to be better pretend criminals, as if any of them need such encouragement.

A preview clip from the episode follows below, featuring Deputies Wiegel and Williams as they give a reading of The Odd Couple. And remember next week’s episode is the fifth-season finale of the show.

Reno 911! airs Thursdays on Comedy Central at 10:30pm EST.

The Factory: Spike TV’s First Original Comedy Premieres

June 28, 2008 by Chandra

The Factory…and I sure hope it fares far better than Spike TV’s first original series ever, Blade: The Series, which was canceled after just thirteen episodes back in the summer of 2006. If not, the show is looking at a pitiful lifespan of just one season.

Tomorrow night at 10pm EST, Spike TV will present the debut of The Factory, its first foray into an original comedy series, slated to run for six episodes during its rookie season.

The show is brought to us by 3 Arts Entertainment (The Office, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and Everybody Hates Chris) and Strangers with Candy co-creator Mitch Rouse, who also stars, along with David Pasquesi (According to Jim, Strangers with Candy), Jay Leggett (The Drew Carey Show, In Living Color), and Michael Coleman (My Boys, Scrubs).

According to the network synopsis, The Factory will transport viewers into the boring daily lives of “four disinterested small town factory workers who spend their time fraternizing while avoiding their drab work.” You know, supposedly typical guy stuff. The premise sure sounds exciting, right?

Spike TV also claims the show is “painfully funny,” which is why I’ll be tuning in to watch at least the premiere, if only to have the immense pleasure of saying later, “It wasn’t hardly that darn funny!”

A clip follows the jump for an advance look at the guys “Blackballing.” Heck, you can even watch the entire pilot episode right now at the full episode section of the show’s website, but it will cost you 21 minutes.

Reno 911!: 5.14 ‘Junior Runs for Office’ Preview

June 25, 2008 by Chandra

Reno 911!Next up on Reno 911! is “Junior Runs for Office.” What kind of office could bumbling Deputy Junior possibly want to hold? The answer may shock and surprise fans, or at least it did me, because the office that Junior wants is like no other office I’ve ever heard of. In fact, I’m fairly certain that in the real world, it doesn’t even exist. That office is Commissioner for Animal Carcass Removal. Ew!

The June 26th episode also has some good in the form of guest star Dan Castellaneta, probably best known to his legions of fans as the voice of Homer Simpson. It should be nice to see his face for once, too.

Check out a scene from the episode below featuring Junior trying his darnedest to come up with a way to buy beer with dead goats. I guess it goes without saying that he fails, thoroughly and miserably and thankfully.

Reno 911! airs Thursdays on Comedy Central at 10:30pm EST.
