‘Cupid’ Cut Short
The Live Feed reports that ABC has reduced the episode order for yet another series on the network’s midseason schedule. As a result, instead of the original 13-episode pickup, Rob Thomas’ remake of the romantic dramedy Cupid, which premieres Tuesday, March 24, at 10pm EST, will have just 9 episodes all together, including the pilot.
Two other newcomers saw their number of episodes decreased from 13 to 10 installments back at the beginning of November: Nathan Fillion’s hourlong crime dramedy Castle (premieres Monday, March 9, at 10pm) and the hourlong Amber Tamblyn cop dramedy The Unusuals (premieres Wednesday, April 8, …read more

Each and every one of the following series recently given the green light by ABC has comedy thrown into the mix. A couple I’ve mentioned in the past.

CASTLE: In this crime-procedural dramedy, Nathan Fillion stars as the title character Nick Castle, a famous mystery novelist who is bored with his own success. ‘Cupid’ Lead Cast Nearly Complete

With the addition of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip alum Sarah Paulson just last week, it looks like the main cast of ABC’s remake of the Rob Thomas sitcom Cupid is almost complete.
Emmy-winning Will & Grace guest star Bobby Cannavale was previously cast in the lead role of Trevor Hale, a recent patient in a mental institution who believes he’s none other than the flesh-and-bone god of love.
Paulson will play a psychiatrist named Claire Allen who becomes responsible for overseeing Hale’s activities after he’s released from the mental institution.
