2007 Best Comedy Actor Emmy: Ricky Gervais, ‘Extras’

Back in July, HBO and Ricky Gervais, the thoroughly hilarious creator of the original U.K. version of The Office, announced that his subsequent comedy, the successful Extras, would close shop for good after a single one-hour special in the third season. That eagerly awaited final episode is apparently still in the works, making diehard Gervais fans particularly thrilled when the Brit scored a statuette for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Sunday night for his performance on Extras.
