As much as it pains me to say it, “Take Your Daughter to Work Day,” almost certainly the series finale, gets my vote as perhaps the worst episode of Carpoolers. It’s too bad the sitcom had to go out with such a weak showing. Then again, saving the not-so-good for last means fans have a longer continuous string of previous well-done episodes to remember fondly.

The guys are in the car with AUBREY driving, DOUGIE in the passenger seat, and GRACEN and LAIRD in the backseat. Aubrey’s grooving and singing along to a tape of his 12-year-old daughter SHAWNA (Guest Star Jay Jay Ellis) playing the piano version of a song called “Milkshake.” Dougie likes the tune, too; but in back, Gracen and Laird are grimacing. When Aubrey reveals Shawna has a recital on Sunday, Dougie volunteers that all of the carpoolers will come, despite the pinches from the backseat to shut him up.

Poor Aubrey. On the March 4th episode of Carpoolers, “Take Your Daughter to Work Day,” he gets booted from his job after he’s discovered impersonating his boss.
Poor Carpoolers fans, too, because this episode is the 13th and final installment of the sitcom produced to date. Since it’s unlikely that ABC will renew the series for a second season, mark your calendar for this episode and enjoy the gang while you can.

On “Lost in America,” the February 26th episode of Carpoolers, Marmaduke gets a taste of tough love from his father Gracen when the senior Brooker refuses to pat his son on the head for his latest business scheme, er, venture — cutting lawns with sheep.
Yes, people, sheep. Is there a parent anywhere in the United States that would support their grown child doing something like that for a living?
In any case, ever-crafty Marmaduke manages to find a replacement dad after he moves in with one of his biological father’s carpooling buddies. Guess which one.

Carpoolers fans should consider themselves very lucky. Despite a two-month-long hiatus that made it seem as if the series was in danger of never resurfacing, ABC has brought the sitcom back and looks set to air all thirteen episodes that were originally ordered and completed.
The February 19th installment is Number 11, and it’s called “The Recital.” When Aubrey invites his supposed work buddies to his daughter’s piano performance, two of them don’t want to go. I dare you to guess who.

Carpoolers fans have an exciting three weeks of original episodes ahead to look thankfully forward to, starting with this Tuesday’s “First Fight” and followed by January 29th’s “The Handsomest Man” and February 5th’s “The Recital.”
This development means the sitcom is well on its way to airing every single last one of the thirteen episodes ordered and produced before the darn writers strike began. The three mentioned here bring the total number of aired episodes to ten, meaning there will be just three left on the shelf after the first week of February.

At work, they all attend a sexual harassment seminar led by beautiful Dorrit Meander (Guest Star Bridget Wilson-Sampras). As there are only two comedy shows airing tonight, According to Jim and Carpoolers, it’s not so bad that one of them, the second, is a repeat.
The situation is even better than it currently looks for fans of that particular series since the next two scheduled episodes are brand-spanking-new. Get psyched for next Tuesday!
