Modern Family: ‘Great Expectations’ Preview

ABC’s hit rookie sitcom Modern Family isn’t playing around during the new November 18 episode “Great Expectations.”
Not only does the installment feature familiar Scrubs and film actress Elizabeth Banks, but Primal Fear and American History X Oscar nominee Edward Norton also stops by. Now please give Modern Family’s casting department a deafening round of applause.
Norton plays musician Izzy LaFontaine, a favorite of Claire and Phil. Claire tries to overcome her habit of giving people lousy gifts by enlisting Izzy for a surprise private performance in honor of her and Phil’s anniversary.
Meanwhile, Banks portrays Sal, a fun-loving gal pal of Mitchell and Cameron. The couple turns to her for assistance when they decide a night out on the town is what they need.
Check out two sneak peeks for “Great Expectations” below. In the first video, Phil confronts his huge fear of clowns, and Mitchell and Cameron reminisce about their pre-Lily days in the second preview.
Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9pm ET.
