The Middle: ‘The Block Party’ Preview

Since ABC is preempting Hank with a holiday-appropriate broadcast of the Peanuts special “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the Patricia Heaton comedy The Middle will kick off the network’s sitcom block on October 28 with the brand-new episode “The Block Party.”
When Frank and Mike receive the news from a teacher that Brick is socially challenged…
Mike sets out to help his son by encouraging him to interact with people during activities like basketball. Although that doesn’t work, Mike unexpectedly realizes Brick is good at fixing mechanical stuff when Mike enters a lawnmower contest for the neighborhood block party.
And while Mike is busy with that, Frankie gets involved in the booster club to help Axl’s football team raise the money needed to buy new jerseys, but Axl isn’t willing to give up his old one.
