Jonathan investigates “The Case of the Lonely White Dove” on the October 18 episode of HBO’s successful new sitcom Bored to Death.

Despite what you might think, the title refers not to a bird, but to a nightclub singer known as the Lonely White Dove.

When an in-love Russian parolee asks Jonathan to locate said chanteuse, the detective first drinks lots of vodka at her place of employment, a restaurant in Brighton Beach, and then convinces Suzanne, Ray, and Leah to have dinner with him there the next night, although they have no idea what he’s really up to.

And while that’s happening, George tries to boost his failing magazine’s sales by tapping into his inner woman.

Preview “The Case of the Lonely White Dove” in the following sneak peek. Suddenly I’m hungry.

Bored to Death airs Sundays on HBO at 9:30pm ET.
