October 7, 2009 by Chandra

The rookie HBO sitcom Bored to Death and the junior Showtime comedy Californication both received some great news this week. After earning excellent ratings in their current in-progress seasons, their respective premium-cable networks have awarded them an additional season.

Bored to Death follows in the successful footsteps of Eastbound & Down and Hung as the third new comedy to get a sophomore season from HBO this year. Look for its second run and the 12-episode fourth season of Californication to debut in 2010.

Bored to Death airs Sundays on HBO at 9:30pm ET and Californication airs Sundays on Showtime at 10pm ET.
