‘Accidentally on Purpose’ Is Going Down

In the ratings, that is.

Jenna Elfman/Accidentally on Purpose

Nielsen data and viewers aren’t being kind thus far to CBS’ newest sitcom, the Jenna Elfman, unplanned pregnancy, much younger baby daddy saga Accidentally on Purpose.

The rookie’s third episode just aired on October 5, and reports indicate the show’s ratings have continued to sink after each new installment. Even worse, the show isn’t retaining the audience that tunes in to its popular five-seasons-old lead-in How I Met Your Mother.

On October 5, the last broadcast, Accidentally lured approximately 7.17 million viewers (2.8 rating/7 share for adults aged 18–49) as compared to Mother’s 8.08 million (3.4/9). From week to week since its September 21 premiere, the show has slipped from 8.91 million total viewers and a 3.3/8 to the September 29th second episode’s 8.07 million and a 3.1/8 to the latest results.

So, what does all of this mean? Well, if you’re enjoying the show, now is a good time to start crossing your fingers and hoping it manages to stick around long enough for Billie to give birth.

Accidentally on Purpose airs Mondays on CBS at 8:30pm ET.

Jenna Elfman doesn’t believe in AIDS. I guess viewers don’t believe in her stupid shows either.
