‘Meet the Browns’ Tonight in the Two-Episode Series Premiere
January 7, 2009 by Chandra
Alright, Tyler Perry fans. Tonight is the night that we’ll finally get to see his new TBS sitcom Meet the Browns.
Even better, if possible, the network is treating viewers to two back-to-back episodes, “Meet Brown Meadows” at 10pm EST and “Meet London and the Competition” at 10:30pm. And, yes, the “meet so-and-so” title format is going to be standard for the show.
Here’s what the first episodes are all about:
Meet Brown Meadows
Sixty-something saved church deacon and widower Mr. Brown (David Mann) doesn’t realize what he’s setting himself up for when he decides to carry out his father’s last wish by opening a retirement home to take care of the elderly.
Meet London and the Competition
Brown interviews various candidates for a handyman position at the retirement home and ends up hiring aspiring lawyer Jesus (Antonio Jaramillo).
If you didn’t see the two preview videos for tonight’s episodes when I posted them the first time, check them out in the earlier post to get a sense of what the show is going to look like.
NOTE: TBS is airing four episodes in a row of House of Payne — “I Can Cry if I Want To,” “Sad, Sad Leroy Brown (Part 1 and 2),” and “Weeping May Endure For a Night” — right before Meet the Browns, starting at 8pm, and two more — “Wax On, Wax Off” and “Cracking Under Pressure” — immediately afterwards.
