Rehab for Sex Addict David Duchovny

And for this week’s news filed in the “Wow — I Really Didn’t Need or Want to Know That” category, David Duchovny, star of The X-Files and Californication, formally announced yesterday through his attorney that he has “voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction.” The actor goes on to request “respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

Privacy, huh? I can pretty much predict there will be little of that in the near future. Otherwise, I have no further comment. Just reporting the latest news about a major, popular TV star who currently headlines a successful sitcom.

To clarify the family mentioned above, 48-year-old Duchovny has been married to actress Téa Leoni (Fun with Dick and Jane, Bad Boys), with whom he has two children under ten, since 1997. Season Two of his Showtime comedy Californication begins on Sunday, September 28, at 10pm EST.
