Tyler Perry on the ‘House of Payne’ Set

August 1, 2008 by Chandra

Tyler PerryTyler Perry’s House of Payne is calling it a second season next Wednesday, August 6, after an astounding, phenomenal, I believe unheard of 100 episodes.

That’s right, readers who don’t watch the show, the hit TBS sitcom’s second season consisted of one hundred half-hour episodes. And no, the sophomore run didn’t begin five years in the past. In fact, it premiered just a little more than a year ago, on June 6, 2007.

If anybody doubted before that series creator, executive producer, and director Tyler Perry is one of the hardest working people in showbiz, that doubt should have disappeared one sentence ago.

Back in September of 2007, Perry paused for a few seconds on the set of House of Payne to let a photographer take a few pictures. Two of the resulting snaps follow the jump, and they show the talented entertainer in a rare scenario for viewers — with nobody at all hanging out around a deserted Payne household. It’s actually kind of spooky.
