Blog Off with Comedy Centric for a Great Cause
June 18, 2008 by Chandra
Comedy Centric is a member of the Entertainment Channel at b5media, which will be collaborating with its fellow Business Channel this Friday during a 24-hour blog-a-thon in support of both The Actors Fund and ACCION International.
The Great b5media Blog Off will begin on June 20th at 12:01am, in each writer’s respective time zone, to celebrate the summer solstice, an event that has occurred on June 21 since 1975; this year, it arrives on June 20. Writers from the b5media Business and Entertainment channels will be posting fresh news at least once per hour for a full 24 hours.
The Entertainment Channel’s efforts will support The Actors Fund, a charity that helps professionals in the performing arts & entertainment industry when they are in need. You can read about the Business Channel Blog Off plans in its earlier article.
If you’d like to help support this fabulous charity-writing marathon, you can do so by either (1) donating a post or (2) donating money to the sponsored charitable organization:
- DONATE A POST: Be a guest writer on any of the participating Entertainment sites by contributing an article to help meet the once-per-hour goal for the 24-hour marathon period.* The participating sites are listed after the jump, along with contact information to email your submission and/or questions.
- DONATE MONEY: Help make a difference by supporting The Actors Fund. One-time donations in any amount are encouraged, but we suggest a pledge of $1 per post written at the Entertainment Channel or a pledge of $10 to sponsor a participating blog. You can securely donate money at the donation page.
As an added incentive for guest writers to help the Entertainment Channel raise money for The Actors Fund, each person who contributes a guest article will be entered to win $30 per article submitted to a blog participating in the Blog Off. In other words, submit two articles, receive two chances to win; submit four articles, receive four chances to win; and so on. There are two $30 prizes up for grabs!
Thank you for your support!
