Nice casting! Hockey legend Willie O’Ree makes a cameo appearance on the March 30th episode of Everybody Hates Chris.
If you’re not familiar with the name or person, O’Ree, a Canadian often called the Jackie Robinson of ice hockey, was the first player of African heritage to play the sport professionally in the National Hockey League when he joined the Boston Bruins as a winger in 1958.
On “Everybody Hates Gretzky,” Chris helps his younger brother Drew track down his favorite hockey player, legendary Wayne Gretzky. Is this the start of a more harmonious relationship between the two siblings? Ha! Don’t count on it.
Everybody Hates Chris airs Sundays on The CW at 8pm EST.
