Original Air Date: February 11, 2008
LAUREN is now 37 months pregnant, and she gets DANNY to take ANDREW to a surprise concert festival in the desert so her husband can relax and truly enjoy himself for the last time before the baby arrives. When she realizes she forgot to give Danny the VIP backstage passes, she recruits COOPER and JULIE to drive with her to the concert to deliver them.
The women are just finishing up a brunch date in lieu of a formal baby shower for Lauren. At the restaurant, Cooper’s assistant BEN informed the lawyer he’s ditching her for her rival Beverly. Normally, Cooper would have ordered Ben to take the passes, but she can’t anymore since he’s switched sides.
On the way to the concert, Andrew was crossing items off of a list he keeps to remind him of what he needs to do to prepare for the baby’s arrival. Unfortunately, when he and Danny get to the concert, there’s no such list of people allowed backstage. So, Danny calls Beverly, who calls her new assistant Ben to bring them passes.
Meanwhile, the ladies drive to the concert and stop to get banana-date shakes on the way at Julie’s suggestion. Lauren explains the real reason why she wanted Andrew to go out — because his thinking she’s about to have the baby every five minutes is annoying. Moreover, she’s shocked that as soon as the baby’s due, she’s just starting to enjoy pregnancy and its advantages, such as receiving immediate service wherever she goes because she looks like she’s about to burst.
When the ladies finally arrive at the outdoor concert, Cooper and Lauren are feeling queasy from the shakes Julie insisted they buy. Lauren manages to locate Andrew at a cellphone booth, and he convinces one of the bands to take them and Cooper to the hospital on a tour bus when they can’t leave in their car because it’s blocked in the massive parking lot. At the hospital, the doctor informs the couple that although Lauren isn’t in labor, she does have high blood pressure, which indicates preeclampsia and the need for an emergency Caesarean section.
As the surgical team begins the procedure, Andrew flashes back on some of the events that led him and Lauren to that stage, meaning we see clips from previous episodes. When he comes back to reality, Lauren has delivered a healthy baby girl.
The others visit in the hospital room afterwards, and Cooper’s assistant Ben arrives with flowers for Lauren … from Cooper, which lets the lawyer know he’s ready to return to her camp. When asked what the baby’s name is, Lauren and Andrew don’t know because they both thought they were going to have a boy.
