Danny Comden Gets ‘Dirt’ Gig

Casting
He might not be a household name (yet), but actor Danny Comden still has reason to smile. Last week, the Hollywood Reporter announced that he’ll be joining the cast of the Courteney Cox gossip dramedy Dirt for a three-episode story arc. His character Ted Rothman is described as the president of a major television studio and a potential love interest for Cox’s character Lucy Spiller.

In addition to co-starring in the one-season ABC sitcom I’m with Her from 2003 until 2004 (I know — I barely remember it myself), Comden has appeared in a number of feature films in minor roles. The Internet Movie Database indicates his Dirt episodes are “Ties That (Don’t) Bind,” “What Is This Thing Called,” and “And the Winner Is,” the fourth through sixth installments of the series’ abbreviated seven-episode second season.
