Not Hot Wife

Poor CHERYL. She and JIM go out for dinner at a supposedly swank restaurant, and the maitre d’ repeatedly tells Jim they’ll have to wait an hour before their table is ready, although they made advance reservations. Since they’re both really hungry, Jim suggests that Cheryl use her feminine wiles to charm the man and convince him to free a table for her faster.

Unfortunately, not only does the ploy not work, but the same man seats two younger attractive women without reservations just seconds after Cheryl’s failed seduction. As a result, she begins to believe she’s lost her sexy.

Mr. Bubbly

In an attempt to restore her confidence, Jim gets the idea that what his wife needs is attention from a hot guy. So, when the cute Mr. Bubbly water deliveryman, BRAD (Guest Star Adam Ray), arrives, Jim and ANDY (who’s always around during these harebrained schemes, of course) freak him out with the suggestion that he come on to Cheryl. Brad’s not interested, however, because he’s a Christian and he has a girlfriend.

Those minor details don’t deter Jim and Andy, though. Jim just decides to make Brad come on to Cheryl whether he knows it or not by faking a note from him to her claiming that he was sorry to miss seeing her when he stopped by the house.

Sexy Back

The next day, Cheryl is as happy as can be about the note, which finally puts her back in the mood to have sex with Jim again, and Jim starts using water as fast as possible in order to keep Brad coming back with more. But, Andy goes and ruins the good times for Jim soon enough when he brings up the possibility that Cheryl is thinking of the water guy when she’s with Jim. Andy can’t understand how that wouldn’t be weird for him.

Andy’s suggestion seems to be proven true when just before Jim and Cheryl are about to turn in for the night, she tells him she needs a glass of water first. Suspicious, Jim heads to the bathroom, at which point Cheryl insists on a glass of Mr. Bubbly to avoid a rusty taste. Thus, Jim becomes convinced Andy is right.

Bubbling Jealousy

The next morning, Jim pretends not to be upset about the water guy, but he reveals his real feelings when he knocks over the water jug in the kitchen in anger just because it gurgles on the dispenser. Cheryl immediately picks up on the problem and decides it’s time to put a stop to the waterman’s notes, and, magically, he arrives moments later with the next delivery. The truth comes out then when Cheryl mentions the notes to Brad and he has no idea what she’s talking about.

After Jim and Cheryl talk the situation over and Cheryl assures Jim she wasn’t thinking about Brad when she was with him, she reveals that the mailman, Bob, gave her flowers recently. At first, she believes that was Jim’s doing, too, until he reminds her he would never spend money when he can have her brother Andy write love notes for free.

Jim & Bob

The couple smoothes things over, yet Jim has one more piece of business to take care of. He goes outside and smashes the mailbox, which has another bouquet of flowers in it. Brad is sitting on the porch recovering from the door being slammed in his face. Thinking that Jim already knows, he mentions that Bob is gay and he’s actually leaving the flowers for Jim.
