Comedy Talk: Christina Applegate’s on ‘The Tonight Show’
ABC has one last comedy up its sleeve this fall, actually the last new sitcom from any network this season, and it stars one actress who’s intimately familiar with the format. That would be Christina Applegate, who first gained widespread prominence on Married with Children as nubile airhead Kelly Bundy—a character she portrayed for a decade, starting when she was just fifteen—and later moved on to headline the single-mom sitcom Jesse. Her new series Samantha Who? takes off this Monday, and Applegate has a date today with Jay Leno of the The Tonight Show to start getting the word out.
