Tonight’s ‘My Name Is Earl’ Repeat Possibly New

by Chandra on September 20th, 2007

My Name Is Earl
I’ve been unable to verify if it’s true or not, but I thought My Name Is Earl junkies might like to know that AOL is reporting tonight’s 50-minute broadcast (8pm EST) actually contains footage that has not been seen previously. The AOL Web site is the only place I’ve found a description claiming the episode is in fact technically new; everywhere else—including home network NBC—indicates it’s just a plain, old, run-of-the-mill repeat.

The scheduled installment, last season’s finale “The Trial,” follows Earl (Jason Lee) as he finally seems to be enjoying significant success getting his life together, an outcome that’s derailed when he then decides out of the kindness of his sweet little heart to sacrifice himself in order to help Joy (new Emmy winner Jaime Pressly) avoid sentencing in her long-anticipated court case.
