The Gang’s All Back on ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’

by Chandra on September 13th, 2007

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Oh, my, goodness—run for cover because those silly friends in sunny Philly are returning to the tube tonight. Mac (series creator Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), twins Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and even the Double Ds’ pint-sized dad Frank (Danny DeVito) will make FX just like home again every Thursday night at 10pm EST as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s third season unfolds.

First up on the premiere double feature of guaranteed inanity is “The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby.” You’ve gotta love a show where each episode’s title reveals exactly what to expect. This time around, Dee and Mac make the deeply troubling decision—What else is new, though, right?—to rear an infant they happen across in a garbage dumpster, while Dennis gets far less than he expects when he hooks up with a group of environmental activists, and Charlie and Frank bond over recycling.

The second episode, “The Gang Gets Invincible” (Get it? Like the based-on-fact football movie Invincible set in Philly?), then finds the crew going public and causing an unseemly commotion—But, what else is new, right?—during the Philadelphia Eagles’ open football tryouts. To make matters even worse, Charlie and Frank top the disaster off by getting into it with the profoundly creepy McPoyle brothers (Nate Mooney and Jimmi Simpson). Just like I said—starting today, FX will be *the* place to chill out on Thursday nights.

Can’t wait until 10pm to get your zany Sunny Philly fix? Then take a look at this summer’s full-length third-season preview webisode “Mac Is a Serial Killer,” created to be savored over and over and over again. Enjoy.
